Director of Business Development
Carla works as the director of business development for Priorities ABA, PLLC, having first learned about the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) during an internship while obtaining her undergraduate degree in clinical psychology. In 2006, Carla served as the director of a group home, where she introduced the ABA methodology into the daily routine and care for individuals who resided there. Graduating with honors from Simmons College, Carla earned a master of science in behavioral education and received her board certification as a behavior analyst in 2009. She is also a licensed behavior analyst (LBA) in New York. Throughout her career, she has gained a wide range of experience working with a variety of disabilities, including autism, ODD, ADHD, and downs syndrome. Carla has experience providing direct services, consulting, and managing programs within public and private schools, private residences, and group homes. Prior to joining Priorities ABA, she served as the clinical director for a company in which she grew the department from one BCBA to more than 10 full-time BCBAs. In addition, she expanded services from consultation services at one private school to insurance and state-funded home services, 12 school districts, two clinics, summer camps, and social skills groups. These services affected more than 300 children throughout the state.
“I have always known that I wanted to work with children. However, it wasn’t until my professor recommended an internship in applied behavior analysis that I found my passion. Through the internship, I provided ABA therapy to two young children on the spectrum and was mentored by a BCBA who supported and encouraged me to pursue my BCBA. After years of working directly with children, I have found that developing and expanding quality services for children on the spectrum is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy.”
